FYM Summer Festival Program

This two-week program is designed to broaden the horizons and deepen the artistic understanding of music students through profound cultural exchange. Participants will have the unique opportunity to study both Western classical music and traditional Chinese music, experiencing the rich fusion and collision of Eastern and Western musical traditions.

With over a hundred concerts, masterclasses, and lectures, you will engage in meaningful exchanges with top international artists and professors, delving into the mysteries of music. Every selected participant will have the honor of performing on the stage of the Shanghai Oriental Art Center. The festival not only provides abundant learning and performance opportunities but also offers generous scholarships to the most outstanding students. The top ten will receive substantial financial support to further their artistic endeavors. The top fifty will receive invitations to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall, stepping onto a broader international stage.

Participant Benefits

Private Major Lessons / Public Masterclasses

2-Week program formal participants will receive top-tier instruction 4 hour lessons and masterclasses from professors at the world leading music conservatories privately and publicly; 1-Week program formal participants will receive 2 hour lessons and masterclasses.

Scholarships

Participants who rank top 10 will receive substantial scholarships.

Concert Hall Performance

Applicants who passed application would receive the qualification of being part of "Stellar Program" and invited to perform at Shanghai Oriental Art Center China during the festival.

*The “Stellar Program” is a project designed by our company (Fym Cultural Media Co., LTD) specifically to nurture future artists. It connects members with world-class resources, ranging from performance opportunities to media coverage, such as concert tours at China’s major grand theaters, performances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in the United States, and professional career planning and development for artists.

Artists’ Recitals

Participants would be invited to attend our artists’ recitals series, featuring performances by our jury panel or guest artists in Shanghai Oriental Art Center and receive free concert series tickets for family members.

Carnegie Hall / Lincoln Center Ceremony Concerts

The top 50 applicants who successfully pass the online application will receive invitation letters to perform at our prestigious Ceremony Concerts at Carnegie Hall in 27th of July 2025, in New York City.

Historical Landmarks Tour

The participants will receive special discount code for Shanghai historical landmark and ancient Chinese town tours.

Music Study Abroad Consultation/Service

Our full doctorate team of piano, strings and voice majors will give lectures and consultation sessions in festival. We are keeping 100% acceptance rate of music applications from Bachelor to Doctoral applications through past years. Service is available upon request.

Certificate

All Participants will receive certificates of the Festival Attendance and our future artists' "Stellar Program" Membership as professional recognization.

Formal participants who passed application and attend two-week full session festival program have access to all benefits mentioned above.

Formal participants who passed application and attend only one-week festival program will not have performance news report by mainstream medias in China, but have access to all other benefits mentioned above.

Student Auditor Seat

Students who wish to attend all public masterclasses and series concerts in Shanghai Oriental Art Center could apply to this seat. Students auditors will receive certificate after study and receive free concert tickets which value over hundreds of dollars.

Students who did not pass the application as formal participants would have priority to have auditor seat reserved.

Teacher Auditor Seat

Music teachers who are interested in attending all public masterclasses and series concerts in Shanghai Oriental Art Center hosted by the festival are welcomed to apply to this seat. Resume is required to apply.

Teachers auditors will receive certificate after study and receive free concert tickets which value over hundreds of dollars.
