
Homan Cheung

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Homan Cheung was first introduced to the piano at the early age of 4. Since his first solo recital in Nanjing at the age of 11, he has performed extensively in China and had made numerous appearances across Asia, Europe, and North America. Highlights include Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, Nanshan Grand Theatre in Shenzhen, HGH Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou, and Hong Kong Cultural Center. As a concerto soloist, Cheung has collaborated with esteemed orchestras including the Bulgaria Festival Orchestra, Stowe Festival Orchestra, Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra, Wuhan Chamber Orchestra, China Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Guiyang Symphony Orchestra. Most Recently, he has achieved acclaim through his success in the Paranov Concerto Competition and WSO Young Artist Concerto Competition, leading to triumphant performances with the Hartt Symphony Orchestra and Waterbury Symphony Orchestra.
Beyond his performance career, Mr. Cheung is deeply committed to education. He has been teaching privately in Hong Kong and the US for the past five years, preparing student for competitions, auditions, and performances. His students have performed in various events such as the HCD Recital, HCD Piano Honor Recital, Carnival of Animal performance at the Lincoln Theatre, Chamber Music Showcase at Hamilton Heights, HMTA Spring Festival Recital at Eastern Connecticut University, Rising Pianist Competition and Hong Kong Golden Bauhinia International Piano Competition.
Mr. Cheung currently resides in Hartford, where he is pursuing his doctoral degree in Piano Performance at The Hartt School while serving as a piano faculty at the Hartt Community Division. He is a student of José Ramos Santana.
